Lest there be any confusion, let me state right away that the artwork in this gallery, whether paintings or photography, is the work of others. I have just collected a few images from the web that I thought were intriguing. Many of pages where I found them were quite interesting in their own right, and therefore I have included links to those pages (if I could remember where they were) along with the links to the images. There are other interesting links to be found by passing through the Dimensional Gateway and following the subsequent link to the Science Fiction realm. (The above image of Thuvia, Maid of Mars, came from the official Michael Whelan website. It is one of his John Carter illustrations.)
Like all of my pages, this one should grow with time, so please check in periodically to see what, if anything, is new. Unlike the other sections of my site, I have not created separate pages for the images collected here. The links below will, for the most part, take you straight to a JPEG file. Just click the "back" key on your browser to return to this page.
This is one of my favorite science fiction movies, and I have collected a few graphics from this Blade Runner homepage, as well as a few other places I am unable to recall.
Deckard
Rachel
The Kiss
Tyrell Corporation
I have a few portions of the cover art from this terrific fantasy series. I acquired the images from the official Michael Whelan gallery. Gerald Tarrant is the subject of both images, which are identified by book title.
Black Sun Rising
Crown of Shadows
I acquired these images from two sites. One is a homepage called The Elric Saga, which is dedicated to the Elric series, and the other is the official Michael Whelan web site.
Sailor on the Seas of Fate
Elric of Melnibone
The gallery of Michael Whelan paintings also includes many from the cover art he did for the Martian Tales of Edgar Rice Burroughs. This one is part of the painting done for the novel The Chessmen of Mars.
As an X-Files fan, I would be remiss if I did not include this image of Mulder & Scully. I am afraid I have forgotten where I got it. By the way, if you have not already, please have a look at my X-Files page.
